Originally from Philadelphia, PA, Lawren Chandler first came to realize her passion for music when she was eighteen years old. After feeling professionally “lost” after high school, she acknowledged her enjoyment for recording music and writing songs just after a few months of practice.
She came to Orlando, FL in March 2011 to create a foundation in music by attending Full Sail University. She graduated in November 2011 from the Recording Arts bachelors program. And soon after she started the Masters program in New Media Journalism and is scheduled to graduate this November 2013. In the future she hopes to combine the best of both degrees and work for a music publication, such as Mix Magazine, or at a music publishing company in NYC.
Being in the New Media Journalism program has motivated her to start her own blog, entitled Voyage2Me. She hopes to transform Voyage2Me into a human interest website that motivates other people around the world to do better for themselves and ultimately find the journey toward their true self. Lawren also plans to add a natural hair component to Voyage2Me; she is always asked to share tips on how she maintains her own hair.
Lawren’s real dream is to become a successful songwriter, as she loves the process of writing and arranging music and lyrics. She also loves to perform onstage and entertain crowds by singing live. Her latest performance was a Michael Jackson tribute show where she performed “The Way You Make Me Feel.”
Lawren is planning on releasing her first solo project in late October 2013, entitled Truly Yours, going by her stage name La’Wrenne.
